Founder and CEO
Younok Dumortier Shin, PhD, MBA has extensive experience in drug development including discovery, preclinical, chemistry, manufacturing and control (CMC), supply chain, and regulatory at several successful pharmaceutical companies including GlaxoSmithKline, Bristol Myers Squibb, Janssen-a member of Johnson and Johnson Company, Allergan, Dermelix Biotherapeutics and Avalo Therapeutics. Dr. Dumortier Shin’s expertise extends to both scientific and strategic areas with outstanding project management and leadership skills, which led to successful regulatory approvals of seven (7) Biologics License Applications (BLAs) and supplemental BLAs (sBLAs), three (3) New Drug Applications (NDAs), and more than sixteen (16) Investigational New Drug Applications (INDs). Dr. Dumortier Shin founded OnusBio LLC with a mission to develop new innovative compounds to treat neurological conditions that are still afflicting millions of people around the world.
Chief Clinical Officer
George Nomikos, MD, PhD has more than 40 years of experience in driving clinical R&D programs and further supporting prelaunch and commercialization campaigns for global pharmaceutical industry giants, such as Eli Lilly, Amgen, Takeda, Astellas, Biogen, as well as emerging, dynamic and impactful biotechnology organizations, such as Sage Therapeutics, Scholar Rock and Harmony Biosciencesis. He also worked as a psychiatry-trained clinician with extensive academic in in the discovery and clinical development of innovative therapeutics for common and rare diseases, including neuropsychiatric, neuromuscular, neurodegenerative, neurodevelopmental, metabolic, chronic pain, sleep/wake, and epilepsy disorders. Dr. Nomikos has authored 180+ peer-reviewed publications in prestigious scientific journals.
Head of Research
Brian Shook, PhD brings a proven track record of driving innovation and delivering compounds into clinical development across therapeutic areas, including CNS, pain, oncology, metabolic, infectious diseases, and rare genetic disorders. Dr. Shook is a synthetic organic/medicinal chemist and senior executive with extensive experience leading global medicinal chemistry departments in large pharma and biotech, an expert in drug discovery with deep understanding of SBDD, DMPK, biochemistry, protein sciences, and crystallography. Serving as a chemistry and project leader, Dr. Shook contributed directly and significantly to the delivery of many compounds into early development across multiple therapeutic areas. Dr. Shook co-authored 28 peer-reviewed publications and reviews, 5 book chapters, and 44 US and Global Patents and Patent Applications.
